Indian Cashew Export Promotion Council was established in 1955. It was created by the government to promote the export of cashew kernels and cashew shell liquid with the help of the cashew industry. They also help in settling complaints related to exports and imports. Its objective is to increase the export of cashew kernel and cashew shell liquid. The Council provides a framework for carrying out various actions that promote exports. They provide necessary contacts and support to the industry.
Types Of Membership Offered By Cashew Export Promotion Council
The Cashew Export Promotion Council in India provides 3 types of membership to exporters, traders, and manufacturer exporters of cashews in India. The eligibility criteria for each are different respectively.
Associate Membership Membership application must be submitted using the official application form. Membership forms can be filled out online. Once an exporter joins, will receive a Registration-cum-Membership Certificate (RCMC). RCMC Membership is valid for five years and must be renewed annually.
Ordinary Membership Any firm or individual who fulfills the following criteria can apply.
For cashew kernel - 30 metric tons (2 containers)
For Cashew Shell Liquid - The weight tag will be given 5 times the exported quantity of the article.
For consumer packs - weightage will be given at 15 times the export quantity of the item
Renew Subscription
As per the guidelines of the Cashew Export Promotion Council of India, registered members are required to renew their membership annually by paying an annual membership fee.
Eligibility For Members To Avail Of Benefits Of The Schemes
Exporters who are members or associate members of the Cashew Export Promotion Council of India and maintain their membership till completion of all export obligations will be eligible to receive assistance under this program.
This program is only for the improvement of existing units by replacement or upgrading of machinery and equipment and not for new units. This includes mechanization and automation as well as increased quality.
The subsidy available to member exporters is 33.33% of their total eligible investment, subject to a maximum of Rs. 100 lakh for process mechanization and automation of cashew processing units and a maximum of Rs. 5 lakh for quality upgradation.
Associate members can avail of a subsidy of 33.33% of their total eligible investment, subject to a maximum of Rs. Rs 10 lakh for process mechanization and automation of cashew processing units. 2.5 lakh for quality upgradation.
